Does the Mittleider weekly feed fertilizer pollute the environment?

Recently I saw something on Facebook where someone was interested in trying the Mittleider gardening method but they were hesitant because they heard the Mittleider weekly feed fertilizer pollutes our retreats and lakes. I contend that a Mittleider garden is friendly to the environment than any other soil based gardening method.
