Sustainable Feast in The Garden of Eden

It is another fantastic day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!

We made a delicious feast for our volunteers today, cooking over fire on our rocket stoves in our sustainable outdoor kitchen! As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you.

Today we made delicious burritos and a wonderful salad!

Our gorgeous daily green salad was bursting with carrots, red onion, green cabbage, tomato, and red bell pepper. This has lots of protein (yes, plants have plenty of protein!!), iron, vitamin C, sulfur, antioxidants, B vitamins, vitamin A including bright orange beta carotene, vitamin E, and even more wonderful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compounds. It's a delicious, fresh, raw serving of health and wellness that we are so grateful to bless up on every day!

Then it was on to the super customizable main course!

We made a lovely pot of purple Thai sticky rice for a yummy, starchy base to build upon or enjoy solo. This is a unique variety of rice, which is actually a type of grass, and there are tens of thousands of varieties!

As a side or another element upon the purple Thai sticky rice foundation, we made a lovely, colorful bowl of sautéed green beans, onions, reds and green bell peppers.

For our meat eaters, we prepared seasoned grass fed ground beef with tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, garlic, salt, and pepper. We offered all these yummy fillings along with organic flour tortillas, shredded pepper jack and cheddar cheeses, salsa, and creamy sour cream for everyone to enjoy exactly what they wanted!

Most of us chose to build flavorful burritos, rolling our preferred ratios of delicious purple Thai sticky rice, seasoned grass fed ground beef, sautéed veggies, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and even salad as a crunchy garnish inside warm tortillas for a fun hand held meal!

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
