Gas Prices 😝steemCreated with Sketch.

Hi Friends,

I apologize in advance, but today I am venting.

Gas prices in California are always the highest in the United States, and that is just something we have to live with. Most of it is related to excessive taxes the State charges which add to the price of a gallon of gas – easily the highest – but also because running a business (ie: rent, electricity, trash, water, more regulations, etc) is quite costly here, so it all adds up to high prices.

I am whining today because all the gas stations have suddenly increased the cost of a gallon of gas by $0.75 almost overnight, blaming the Saudi oil field attack (happened over a month ago), a state-mandated gas blend change (a summer blend vs a winter blend of gas), and unplanned maintenance shutdowns at local oil refineries.

Normally, when the price of oil/gas goes up as a commodity, we see price increases, but never have I seen such a huge jump in gas prices when the price of oil/gas has been flat – it is all internal and isolated to California.

At $4.25+ USD per gallon for regular, unleaded fuel, I may need to start taking public transportation as my truck gets bad gas mileage (15ish miles per gallon) – who wants to spend $100 to fill up a 25 gallon tank! That’s 6 ounces of silver for a tank of gas!

Grrrr… this stinks!

Ok, vent over.

Thank you for coming by,

Brian
