Arron Zelman was the founder and head of the "Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership"

I had the great priviledge of speaking with him on a few occasions back in the early 2000s when i was doing a radio program and the subject was the second amendment of the US Constitution.
He passed away in 2010. He was amazingly to the point in regards to self defence and the need for a free people to be an armed people. Do not make the mistake of thinking that the second amendment is primarily something to do with either hunting or defending yourself against the occasional thug. ( it is very effective in making sure you can carry the necessessary equipment to do it though)
