The earth has a lot of versatility to balance itself out with its natural chemical reactions and weather shifts. What will kill the earth is the Sun which will happen about 4.5 billion years from now.
The planet itself will be fine and will always be able to maintain an equilibrium in a geological time frame.
However, many of the current occupants of the planet are under the threat of extinction as they will be unable to adapt to a rapidly changing climate.
