저는 오늘 다하우 수용소를 방문했습니다.
Today I visited to Dahau Concentration Camp.

본 사진은 다하우 수용소의 입구인데요,

다하우 수용소는 1930~1940년 당시 정치범, 종교인, 유대인, 장애인, 동성애자등이 수용되었던 뮌헨에 위치한 수용소 입니다. 다하우 수용소는 뮌헨의 위치해 있으며 당시 5,000명을 수용하기 위해 지어졌지만 수용소가 문을 닫기 전엔 약 35,000명의 수감자들이 생활을 했다고 합니다.
Dahau concentration camp was built to put political criminal, religious criminal, Jews, homosexual, and disables into the camp. It is located in Munich and it was built to accommodate 5,000 yet the number of prisoners reached to 35,000 in the last day before closing the camp.

수감자들은 그냥 수감되는 것 뿐만 아니라 매일 강도높은 노동을 해야 했는데요. 당시 전쟁중이었던 독일은 노동력이 부족하자 무자비로 사람들을 수용소에 수용하면서 강제 노동을 시켰습니다.
The prisoners were forced to work hard otherwise they will be punished or tortured. Germany was in war at the moment so they needed to have more manpowers to produce such things including weapons. Therefore, they arrested people and put in the camp so as to increase the man power in the factories.

당시 정권의 우두머리는 악명높은 아돌프 히틀러였는데요. 아돌프 히틀러는 많은 수의 수용소를 지으며 많은 사람들을 학대했다고 합니다.
At the moment, the head of the government is notorious Hitler. He was the one who made many people in suffering.

다하우수용소에 있는 가동되지 않았다고 불리는 가스실

하지만 다하우수용소에선 악명높은 아우슈비츠수용소에서와 같은 가스실 대학살은 없었다고 하는데요, 하지만 이곳에서도 엄청나게 많은 수용자들이 사망을 했다고 합니다.
However, Dahau concentration center did not operate the gas room as Auschwitz Concentration Camp killed thousands and thousands innocent prisoners yet tons of people died in the Dahau Concentration Camp as well.

맨처음 수용소를 들어오면 가장 들어야 했던 소리가 세개 있었는데요.
"너희들은 아무 보호를 받지 못한다"
"너희들의 인권은 더이상 존재하지 않는다"
"너희들의 존엄성은 더이상 없다"
라는 소리였습니다.
If you are to be a prisoner in the concentration camp, you would suppose to hear the three sentences below;
"You will not be protected"
"You do not have human rights anymore"
"You don't have dignity"

당시 히틀러는 자신의 정당에 반대했던 다른 정당의 정치인들, 노동조합, 자신을 반대하는 저널리스트, 종교인들을 포함한 장애인, 동성애자, 유태인, 전쟁포로 등을 무잡이로 수용시켰다고 합니다.
Hitler arrested politicians who went against him, trade union, journalist who were anti-Hitler, some religious men, disables, homosexuals, Jews, and war captives for notorious reasons.

이 이야기는 현지 독일인 가이드님이 말씀해 주신 내용들인데요, 그 심오한 내용을 들으면서 저 또한 많이 디프레스 되었답니다.
These are what I have heard from the local German guide, and I was totally desperate when I was hearing from him.

나무로 지어진 수용소는 썩어서 철거를 했고 현재는 바닥에 표시만 남겨두었음
Because the woody concentration camp was rotten, it was destroyed but it was marked on the ground.

당시 수용소는 나무로 지어져 보존되어 있지 않지만, 몇몇 건물들은 그대로 보존되어 박물관등으로 사용되어 있습니다.
It was built in wood so it could not be preserved yet some preserved buildings are reformed as museum.

이러한 역사적인 오점을 인정하고 되풀이하지 말아야 한다는 독일사람들의 이야기를 듣고, 많은 생각이 들었는데요.
The local guide finished his words that "We must not repeat the wrong history" and I was captured with his words for a while.

매일 술을 먹는거 뿐만 아니라, 이렇게 몸으로 와닿게 역사를 배우는 것도 참 좋다는 생각을 했었답니다.
I just felt that it is great to learn the history with heart rather than just drinking and enjoying time in Munich.
