*Steembuntu*, My Ubuntu understanding of Steemit

My name is Kafui Young - Steemian. I come from Ghana and I was introduced to Steemit just five days ago. I could not believe something like this existed however as the evidences started showing forth all that came to mind was "wow! this is ubuntu people. This is steembuntu"

You see, my relating of ubuntu to steemit stems from a nice story I heard about the motivation behind the Ubuntu culture in Africa and it goes like this;
An anthropologist proposed a game to some native African tribal children. He placed a basket of sweets near a tree and made the Children stand 100 metres away.
The he announced that whoever reaches first would get all the sweets in the basket. Now when 'he said ready steady go!' do you know what the children did? They all held each other's hand, ran together towards the tree, divided the sweets equally among themselves, ate the sweets and enjoyed it.
When the Anthropologist asked them why they did so, They answered 'Ubuntu' which means 'How can one be happy when the others are sad' Ubuntu in their language meant - 'I am because we are'!

The Ubuntu-ness of Steemit

Somehow to me, see a similar principle at work with Steemit; In that we all are, because of each other. The era of minding only your business is gradually coming to a close. A new dawn is rising things are changing so rapidly there is not even enough time to catch up. The world and its many needs are so much one person cannot meet them all. We have to come together (ubuntu) and make the world a better place.
Yes many may have a different understanding of this but to me I see the ubuntu message beautifully written in the steemit story.
