Emotional processes have a positive or a negative character depending on whether the action that one performs or the impact on which he is subjected in the positive or negative attitude to his needs, interests, purposes, beliefs, attitudes.

Passions are even more resilient forms of experience and encompass a whole person. Passions discover the involvement in different activities. They reveal the meaningful meaning of the activities of consciousness. Passions are overwhelming and pushing man toward the pursuit of his goals. Passion can lead to suffering because the experiencing passion becomes its captive. Passion can be destructive or creative, destroying man or elevating it to grandeur and heroism. Great things are matched with great passions. Mood is the longest experience that reveals man's attitude to situations and events.
