The Problem of Life in the Philosophical Anthropology - Aristotle, Seneca, M. Aurelius, Nietzsche

Aristotle. The young and the old have a different attitude to life because they are presented to them at different angles: for the others to come, I have for the others already gone.

  • Young people's life: Young people tend to do what they want, live in hope, similar to the drunk, are hot and have not been very successful;
  • the life of the old: contrary to the young, they claim nothing categorically, they are suspicious because of their unbelief, they do not believe because of their experience, they neither love nor hate much, they are cowardly, they live more with the memory than with the hope.
    "The body achieves its maturity from 30 to 35 years, and the soul at 49 years.

Seneca. For Seneca, happy life is in harmony with nature and we must live in nature. Life is short, but not because time is small, but because we lose it a lot. So we have to organize it. "Life is not short, we shrink it, we are not poor, but wasteful of life. "All life must be taught how to die." "The great man, who is uplifted over all human care, knows that he does not allow himself to be wasted and a moment of his time." "Consider every day as a separate life."

M. Aurelius. "One can only be deprived of the present because he only owns it." "The time of human life is a moment, the essence is something leaking, the perceptions blurred, the connection - in general, easily destroyable, fate - unpredictable, the survival of the name - controversial. Everything related to the body is a river, and everything belonging to the soul - sleep and smoke, life is war and residence of a foreigner, the name remaining after death - condemned to oblivion. "Only philosophy can comfort us. Nietzsche. "The one who does not pay attention to life lives best." He says that the only thing left behind will be a continuation of our lives. In cases, the most common can be judged about people's lives. "I live, therefore I think". "For others - cheerful, for yourself - wise."
