300 tons of gold from from USA to Germany

Germany had stashed 300 tons of gold in USA but now its back in Germany, and one can only wonder why.

If we see All Mighty Dollar being inflated as much as its possible, the question is, what will happen next - what if it blows up.
Germany knows they would have a hard time getting their gold back then, and there is no way they can force or threaten US to give it back.  I think, before anything happens, they just want to have their gold back home, because USA does not look as safe as it was 50 years ago.

Should we regular citizens convert our savings to gold as well and have some money in bitcoin for example.
I think each and everyone of us can think for themselves and do what is best for them
