Sandra Oh thanked her parents in Korean at the Golden Globe Awards Ceremony.

Last night (January 6), the 76th Golden Globes Awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Golden Globe Awards is a prestigious award ceremony for movies and dramas from the United States.

Sandra Oh, became the first Asian to win two Golden Globe Awards, receiving the Best Actress award in the drama category thanks to her role in the British TV drama "Killing Eve".

Upon receiving the award, Sandra, introduced her parents in her acceptance speech. "Here are two people I am very grateful to" said Sandra, "I want to thank my mom and dad", then the camera shed light on her parents who were sitting in the audience while the audience clapped hands. At that time, Sandra said "엄마, 아빠 사랑해요" in Korean, meaning "Mom, dad, I love you", and gently bowed to them.

Sandra Oh's parents emigrated to Canada in the 1960s, and she was born in 1971. At a young age, she started learning ballet and acting. It is known she rejected a four-year journalism scholarship to Carleton University to study drama at the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal.
