Google Releases Android Pie Go Edition for Cheap Mobile Phones

Google prepares solutions for middle-class smart phone users by introducing Android 9 Pie Go Edition.

Google wants to improve the Android experience on entry-level devices that are often purchased by users who are using the smartphone for the first time.

Aimed at developing countries, the operating system has been optimized for hardware that is not strong enough and limited data connectivity.

Android 9 Pie Go Edition is claimed to be more efficient on device storage media. Disitat from 9to5Google page (08/16/2018) devices with Go Edition will get additional storage of 500MB.

Although more than half of what is available on regular devices, Google includes companion applications that are also lightweight in resource usage such as YouTube Go, Maps Go and Gmail Go.

Google said there are already more than 200 Android Go devices spread in 120 countries and more than 100 manufacturers who plan to release at the end of the year.
