As I recall, the state has 'a reasonable period of time' to bring charges, or release a captive: 72 hours.

Even that is a weapon that can destroy a persons life. Six months is all but guarantee that an innocent victim will have to start a brand new life when released. Disgorging an American citizen to a foreign nation, even if they have dual citizenship, is disgraceful.

American jurisprudence, however, is a mockery of justice, by any measure, anyway.

I'm surprised they even bother with courts, lawyers, and trials anymore at all.
