Light that Candle

The significant of the act displayed by the woman in the parable of the lost coin in Luke 15, lie almost on the surface. To “light the candle” can be nothing else than to put forth the full power of Grace. Proverbs 20:27 shows us what this candle really is. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Prov.20:27 KJV).IMG-20180502-WA0000.jpg

She lights up her Spirit so that she can hear from God and see what the Lord will show her. She decided to put her spirit to work first, not her flesh. She had to ignite her revelation knowledge and not her sensory knowledge. This “spirit of man”, was breathed into him by God (Genesis 2:7), and after the breath, He quickened and illumined man by the Spirit, which is this “candle of the Lord,” given to man as an inward light and guide. When man puts on this Candle, he gets illumination on everything he is and everything he wants to know.

The candle of the Lord ‘searches’ the depth of man’s heart; testing all his thoughts, feelings, desires, by God’s standard. God discerns man’s most inward thoughts and affections not only his outward actions, which are visible to others, and can be different from what is really inside. This will result in what God desires in a man that He walks and works with. No man can survive without God’s light, i.e. illumination. The psalmist said Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalms 119:105). Information and revelation are two different things. You really do not have to be spiritual to get information, you only need to listen or study what it is you want to know about. When you listen or study on Finance, you get information about finance. When it comes to getting revelation on God’s purpose or Word, you must light the Candle. Everything that man needs to fulfil his purpose is in the God who has given him the purpose.

Light is needed for ‘talents’ to be discovered and effectively used for the main purpose it was designed for. You will be so amazed at the discovery you can get when you light the Candle.

The woman then “sweeps the house”. This can be nothing else than to use all available means for cleaning the space to remove the things that are not originally there. When you sweep your ‘room’ daily, you discover that you are sweeping away dirt that were introduced by whatever means, but this dirt were not originally there. It could be the dust from a shoe, pieces of paper littered by a child, food grains, broken particles, and liquid things etc. you discover that this dirt were introduced.

Where you are sweeping them from was NOT and can NEVER be their original position. This is how it is with us. When God created us, He put only His purpose and thought in our lives, but the enemy came in to introduce dirt. Read Matthew 13:24-20 with this mind. Sin is an introduction of dirt to the life of a man in Christ. When you are in Christ, you do not have sin as a part of you.

Sin is NOT a part of man’s life. It is a dirt that originally has no place in that abode. When you light the candle and sweep the house, you begin to see the possible good/beauty that lies hidden or apparently lost because of the dirt that has covered the space.

The idea of ‘sweeping’ is not to see the dirt (sin), but the beauty that the dirt tried to cover. Sin (dirt) is not the state and condition of God's elect.

This is why we live above sin and it (sin) has no dominion over us.

It is with Love!
