The Lost- Left in the Wilderness 2

Permit me to paint a picture with a story as I wrap this series.

My daughter (Eliora) was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of June 27, 2016. She was hospitalized; a drip was quickly fixed and injections were administered that within few hours, she had collected no fewer than ten (10) different injections. She was admitted for some days. She was in the hospital with her mum all through; her elder sister (Jonetta) was there too, her aunties and uncles, and grandparents were there, BUT she was the only one that took the drips, the injections and the medications. What immuned the others from taking treatment was because they were not ill. The doctor DID NOT need to administer any treatment to any other but Eliora. He did not need to place anyone on drips or give them injections- they did not require it. Given them something like that would actually be a waste. The doctor also in treating Eliora, did not limit the treating procedures or requirement; he gave her the necessary drips and injection to make sure she got better. The only difference with this picture and understanding the quest to find the lost sheep is that we had to pay for the doctor’s services. We paid for the bed space, the drips, the injections and the other treatments given BUT the lost sheep did not pay a dime to be found, instead the shepherd paid every debt/cost for the sheep. Why were the 99 left in the wilderness? Again, it is worth noting that just like my wife and others in the hospital that did not need the doctor to give them treatment when only Eliora was ill, the 99 were righteous (saved) and needed no repentance; therefore there was no need for Jesus to be administering the saving need to them.

They were saved and could not lose their salvation, not even in the wilderness. As the doctor treated only the ill patient, Jesus came for those who are lost. The Shepherd went in search for the ‘lost sheep’ until He found him. He was wounded for the transgressions of the lost sheep, bruised for our iniquities, the punishment of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 emphasis mine); with His diligent search He has found us. Why Isaiah 53:6-7 (KJV) 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord (Good Shepherd) hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He (Good Shepherd) was oppressed, and he (Good Shepherd) was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he (Good Shepherd) openeth not his mouth (emphasis mine). While other shepherds will neglect the sheep and allow them die, the shepherd suffered the fate of the sheep and gave the sheep His Life.

The price God paid for our redemption is too expensive. He will not leave us alone no matter how lost we think we are. God searches, finds and restores us to the fold. With Grace, you do not give, you just receive. Salvation is something you can never pay for; we just receive. If you are not saved already, determine to be saved today. The best way to be saved is to believe (Romans 10:9-11).

You need not feel unworthy to be saved; the Good Shepherd is closer than you think, imagine or know.

Are you saved?

It is with Love!
