Understanding the Misplaced Coin

Take CAN-Christian Association of Nigeria as an unbrella organization containing numerous Christian denominations in Nigeria for example, when they gather they do not come to show spiritual strength but are supposed to bring each other’s gift together for a common good. Remember, we cannot change policies in a Nation by exercising miracles, tongues etc., but we must be involved to change a process. Forgive me, but I have not seen a Christian leader lead a people by just speaking and interpreting tongue. No. He must know how to work in administration, politics, socio-cultural and economic milieu and get help too.

Nobody can work in isolation.

The church should with urgency embrace this truth. When the woman (Church) notices this, it becomes easy to channel purpose for a common good. We are a Church, not in order that we may trail ourselves on its possession, nor in order that we may flamboyantly display it, and not even to hide what God has blessed us with, but we get the life of Christ in order that it may spread through us to others. As a Church we are responsible for the use of what we have.

Have you noticed that the sinner as well as the saint has the breath of God in their lungs? What then is the breath of God? His Spirit! As a Church we must understand that every man has access to the one Source of illumination and of truth and righteousness and holiness. No man is to become subject to the dominion of another. What we need to do as a Church is to help others know the manifestation of the Spirit they have been given and then help them to work with it. We must come together to put our individual and collective gifts to a common use. God did not give us this assignment to perform it alone. We must without weary recognize that the universality of the manifestation of the Spirit is not just only what is stated in 1 Corinthians 12.

Everyman is given the manifestation of the spirit to profit withal. This to me is a gift not talked about when the others are been spoken of; maybe because this coin is misplaced. Imagine that the Church speak and preach one Gospel, Jesus. Imagine that there is no ‘our’ and ‘theirs’ in the Church. Can you imagine what will be of a nation like Nigeria if every church came together to affect the economy, politics, socio-cultural and administration locale of the nation? The church cannot give dictates to the world if it remains enclosed to a four corner. I remember a 'church' went the extra length saying if I perish I perish (Esther 4:16), before others agreed to unite and the unity made a change not only on the then nation, but the impact is felt up to this day. What if she said ‘I am a queen’ and refused the manifestation that the other ‘commoners’ had? Esther’s decision alone cannot be praised for this victory. Mordecai, and ‘all the Jews in Shushan’ (Esther 4:16) played a great role too. If I will relate the cast of the book of Esther as a Church, I will say Esther is a Mega Pentecostal Church that came out from the Orthodox (Mordecai) and ‘all the other Jews’ will represent other Church, big or small, Pentecostal or Orthodox. Esther’s decision to have every Jew (Christian) involved in their deliverance from the hell that seems to be rising against them, is mainly to the point that a stick of broom cannot sweep a compound clean as a bunch will do.

If I am to name the lost coin that the woman found, I will name it ‘UNITY OF PURPOSE’. This is the misplaced coin that the church needs to find and when this is done, heaven rejoices. The Church must come to the place where the administrative authorities of the nation take orders from her. Our talents are valuable to the Lord and He does not want us to loss or misplace them. A state makes the difference. A lost gold is still gold; a missing car is still a car; a dead lion is still a lion, it is just the state they find themselves.

The Lord wants our talents to bring Him glory alone and it gives Him joy when we are in USE for Him. Notice that when the coin was lost it was still valuable BUT useless. Remember, it all ends in celebration; “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth" (Luke 15:10 KJV)

Hmmm! You have well written my friend on this subject matter.

It can be complicated sometimes when we look at the situation of thing and how they play out.

But what can the righteous do?
When a house is divided amongst itself too.

But nevertheless the church of God will prevail but you and I have a serious role to play when we put our house together.

For CAN, they have a lot of repairs to make too.

Thanks for sharing this valuable piece of info.

I agree with you. We have our roles to play and they are more than we expect them to be. The Church must come to the point of understanding that we are not at competition. The disunity of purpose have left many Church to believe that they exist on their own and when crisis hit especially in Nigeria's northern part where religious violence used to be a daily occurence, the church is left at the mercy of their foes while other churches will just pretend as if nothing is happening.

We have a role to play. The Grace of God must be preached to the ends of the earth. It is that Grace that will unite the Body of Christ and make Associations like CAN do the right thing and function on the reason they are established.
