Today we awoke to our first "snowfall" of the year. Here in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin we average 45 inches of snow per year. And we average getting 40 days with a snowfall.

When is snow considered to count as a snowfall?
A snowfall is any accumulation of snow where cat tracks can been seen. So in order to count as a snow fall, you need to be able to track a cat in the snow.
What exactly is a trace of snow?
A trace of snow is when a steady snow falls but melts when it comes in contact with the ground. In other words, a trace of snow is snow that doesn't stick.

You're lucky that you get so little snow there. I wish we were that lucky here, but alas this is Canada and we get anywhere from double to quadruple that amount each winter.
