Gratitude day 9: I am grateful for the simple things
What are the simple things? In my honest opinion, they are the things we neither remember to acknowledge nor have the time to pay attention to because they seem so little.
We often remember the triology of the three L's meaning the live, laugh and love but also, in the process, we forget the little things in between which also matter. Things like the ability to taste and to perceive, things like being able to even walk.
We value the importance of health in the absence of it. Imagine waking up one day and not being able to neither taste nor smell. That lovely perfume becomes scentless to us and we cannot do anything about it. All the money in the world is unable to help us and we just have to live with such a burden.
These little things actually matter, our very reality is often colored by these things (both the ones I mentioned and a whole lot more) and it is because of these things we can say we are alive.
What if we bought a sweet juice and it was tasteless, not sweet, simply and utterly tasteless?
We will surely run from pillar to post looking for a solution and if it is not found, we feel that is the end.
I cannot overstate the importance of these things, however I can only try and the sooner we start to appreciate them, the better.
So once more, I am grateful for the little things which cannot be overstated.

The absence of which becomes a threat to our existence.

It is very easy to forget that little things in life matter. Especially when we are repeatedly exposed to them. Availability seems to undermine a thing's perceived worth or importance. Must be why George Huff wrote these lines : We're looking for stars that shoot across the sky;bring fairy tales to life,that would be a miracle. So often we miss the little things in life. While we pray for a miracle and hope for a miracle, but still we find that miracles..happen everyday.
