i'ts a real capture from the prehistoric age ! This moustic is from the Oligocen (34 to 23 million years). Europe is experiencing a massive extinction and a flow of animals of Asian origin.South America, isolated from other continents, develops a very particular fauna, while in Australia there is no terrestrial fossil. Marine fauna evolves and vertebrates become preeminent. The toothed cetaceans appear as well as the Carcharhinidae (sharks).

In the early Oligocene practically all modern mammalian families are established. There are very few marine fossils of this time in North America.
