The Greens’ Green Resolutions for the year

This is the year of Waste for The Greens and our principal objective this year will be to #StopPlasticPollution in the city of Bamenda in the North West Region of Cameroon.

#EndPlasticPollution Campaign

We shall organize 4 #EndPlasticPollution Campaigns in schools, churches and communites, promote plastic arts and crafts and upcycle at least 1000,000 plastic bottles to produce UPB Vertical Gardens, UPB Nursery Pots and lots of plastic upcycled products.

#EcoDesigns

At ecoDesigns, our principal objective will be to complete setting up the ecoDesigns workshop, start a thrift store and commence the effective marketing of our textile upcycled products.
We look forward to organizing 3 street sales and ecoFashion shows as well as upcycle at least 2000 pounds of textile waste. We will graduate 03 of our trainees into ecoFashion Designing Entrepreneurs.

#TreePlanting

We look forward to creating 02 community Tree Nurseries this year and planting 1000 Trees.

#Earth Rangers

We will continue to educate, integrate and engage at least 30 young people to become Earth Rangers who will clean-up, fix-up and conserve the environment.

#Art

We will continue to organize our monthly poetry event, Black Swagger Poetry Slam together with La Liberte Arts Group and Y’G. We shall also promote art, music, drama and sports for the environment.

#EnvironmentalEvents

We will participate in the commemoration and celebration of all Environmental Days as well as participate in local and international environmental events such as workshops, symposiums and conferences.

#Partnerships

We will continue to build a strong alliance with individuals (@pennsif @eco-alex @canadian-coconut @sustainablelivin @gogreenbuddy @elamental @dynamicgreentk @delishtreats) as well as local and international organizations (@adollaraday @ecotrain @earthtribe @cleanplanet @fundition etc) that support our objectives of waste management, climate change action, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development as a whole.

The Greens is a grassroots environmental organization that strives to educate, inspire and engage young people to take action to combat climate change and be at the forefront of biodiversity conservation and waste management.

Founded in 2010, @thegreens have been able to use arts, sports, media and ICT to educate and engage more than 10,000 young people in Green Poetry, Green Music, Green Arts, Green Radio, and Conservation Champions League.

Her tree planting programs have seen the organization create 04 Community Tree Nurseries, planted more than 300,000 trees and together with @kedjom-keku we have acquired 1000 hectares of afromontane forest in Kedjom-Keku Village of the Bamenda Highlands of the North West Region of Cameroon for the creation and conservation of Kedjom-Keku Community Forest

@thegreens is currently engaged in Waste Management (Waste Business Hub); Plastic Waste Upcycling, Tire Upcycling and Textile Waste Recycling via @ecodesigns.
Her #EndPlasticPollution Campaign has seen the organization sensitize more than 100,000 people about plastic pollution, upcycled more than 10,000 plastic bottles to create UPB Vertical Gardens, UPB Tree Nursery Pots, etc.

Her Textile Recycling Project (@ecodesigns) is currently training 13 young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing and has recycled more than 5000 pounds of textile waste.

Her Tire Upcycling Project is educating and engaging young people in schools and communities to #StopBurningTires and upcycle them to create Mushroom Tire Seats, Tire Flower Pots, etc
