GRC faucets and sinks - brainstorming

There is a huge GRC tap (faucet), which is Gridcoin blockchain itself. It produces thousands new GRCs daily. There is however only a few sinks to absorb them.

During my recent activities on Bitshares where I'm trying (intermittently) to establish liquid GRC market I have noticed that my efforts resulted in a net flow into gateways of ~30 000 GRC. Altogether, there is over one millions GRC at least temporarily locked in Bitshares gateways. Apparently exchanges do work as sinks and absorb tokens.

Do you have an idea what kind of sink could we create? Even if as a proof of concept? Some loose ideas:

  • badges (digital)
  • cards (digital)
  • BOINC themed apparel
  • holiday invitation for a fellow cruncher if you have a spare room

Even if not anything serious, it could liven up community and maybe result in better ideas in the future.

What are your thoughts?

    If anyone wants to visit Bucharest, I have a very comfortable coach, which I can rent for Gridcoin. Plus a free tour of the city, and some beers on me...

    Now coming on the serious side: we have a lot of computing power, and computing power is valuable. One idea is to sell computing power in exchange for GRCs. We will probably need a separate client, similar to BOINC...

    gridplace is a interesting sink. More little blockchain games like that would be neat.

    I wonder if it'd be viable to make a web based game that uses gridcoin as the ingame currency. I can come up with tons of ideas just wish I had the skills to effectively use them.
