One month on I still wonder if the level of animosity will ever stop?
I personally believe that a verbal conversation needs to be arranged by the protagonists.
The air needs to be cleared for us all to move forward.
I know it's easier said than done.
My mother always said " Never take an ill wind to bed with you."

The superblock continues to be problematic and our valiant developers (you know who you are) continue to delve around in the guts of the code for the project to worm out the bottlenecks that may occur when we get an even bigger increase of users. The next step is a mandatory release which needs a 2 week headwind in order for the exchanges to get sorted in time.

I hope to see the new logo up and running soon, it'd be nice if the exchanges got their media pack before the mandatory release and when they changed their Gridcoin logos we could track the success with new users that come on-board after that date.
The 1 Millionth Block
This is around the corner and come towards us fast. I know the commemorative coin is almost decided. Great work, would really love to hold one of those in my hands. Nice!!
We do need to promote this more actively It's a Milestone.
I did suggest we all do a 20 second video, can be done on a phone, if you don't really want to be seen disguise yourself.
Wear a funny mask or a gorilla costume.
Must be lots more ideas out there to get us in the public eye.
I see that IRC is so quiet since Grctip 'left the building'.
We do like to throw those coins around, rain is the life blood of the IRC .. to be able to give a few gribbles to some new user for the first time, priceless .. we need a tip bot .. we need !reward back as soon as possible ..
In closing it's been a weary month for me.
I've seen my friends antagonise each other.
I've seen my friends tackling a problem with dedication.
I've seen the creative acumen this community has in abundance.
I've seen my main server with it's GPU card go down fully, after almost a month of sorting out bad driver problems with my GPU.
'I've seen the light' when I finally sorted it yesterday and it's back on and running as it should.

I think one of the biggest issues is the underlying feelings of ownership and power. Some of these feelings are justified. Some are well out of place. I don't mind a lot of the senseless chatter that goes on in IRC; heck, I'm often part of it. However, I am all for being a little more "professional" in the sense that you don't have to like someone to agree with them.
I hopped on IRC right after joining this whole BOINC/Gridcoin thing. I left cause of the drama that went down with the idle game and all the nonsense in the main channel. Some toxicity, chatter about some dudes porn servers, etc. I miss it cause of the tip bots, that was fun. !rainactive 4 20!!!! =) I didn't know that grctip was gone, sad to hear.
End of the day this is an internet community so drama, unfortunately, is gonna be a thing. IRC was a resource that I miss but not enough vs all the bs that took place there for me to venture back.
Fortunately, Gridcoin seems to be stronger than the lame members of its community so we're good there. My thanks to all involved in keeping it up and running! I'm here for the SCIENCE! and making a few bucks on the side with potential to make considerably more are definitely a bonus.

Yeah we have our dramas as a community. Some are solved with alacrity and some seem to end up simmering as an undertone.
We do need to be mature and put these disagreements aside, firstly for the good of the community and secondly for our own good mental health.
Let's get GRCtip or some tipbot working on IRC again .. I'd do it myself if I had the knowledge and time ..
