Report #27 - November 26th, 2018

Welcome to the 27th Gridcoin State of the Network Report. The SotN is a fortnightly report that compiles useful news and statistics for the Gridcoin community.

We have made two changes to this report.

First, you will notice a new yellow line on the GRC minted graph that separates the era of APR Gridcoin from the era of CBR Gridcoin.

Second, while we are keeping all data in our spreadsheets, we will be keeping charts in these reports to one year of data for simplification. This means data from before November 17th 2017 has been removed from the graphs.

DEVELOPMENT

You may have noticed some minor forking over the past two weeks. We can confidently say that it has nothing to do with the CBR update. It would seem to be an extreme corner case from some legacy code. When the problem occurred core devs notified exchanges so they could take their wallets offline. Once the chain stabilized they suggested they reopen their wallets with increased confirmations. The chain has remained stable since the issue and devs believe they have zeroed in on the problem and are working on a hotfix.

Beyond this, work continues on the Camilla milestone. Expect a developer update next week, barring a major release from the development team.

STATISTICS UPDATE

The stats update is divided into 3 sections: Blockchain Statistics, BOINC Statistics, and Project Statistics.

Every other week we bring you the most up to date statistics regarding the operation of the Gridcoin blockchain and Gridcoin BOINC projects. The information is gathered from Thursday to Wednesday on fortnightly basis and compiled from the getblockstats RPC command in the Gridcoin wallet, BOINCStats, GRCPool, Gridcoin Stats and from individual project websites.
