Gridcoinstats.eu Back Online Again, now with more backend nodes and improved status

in #gridcoinstats6 years ago

Previous issue with data collection should now be solved.

The page is now back online again, since last night, and the last few issues with the data collection should now be solved.

Expanded Backends

The network requires reliable, trustworthy and transparent data, which is why I've increased the number of backends by two.

  • One node hosted in Tokyo, Japan
  • One node hosted in Singapore, Singapore

Both servers are hosted by Linode, a hosting company I've used for decades and proven stable and reliable. Their servers are easily scalable for further expanding if necessary.

At the time of this post, the node in Japan is syncing and the node in Singapore will be set up during the day.

Updated Status Page

The current status page for all my nodes have also received an update, now properly displaying if one node is on a fork, compared to the page. The page will always follow the largest chain.

If one node is on a fork, which is when its last known hash is not in the page database, its now properly considered forked.

Please keep in mind that "Forked" is just in the eyes of the page and may not be accurate

Funny how the 3.7.4 node is on the chain and all 3.7.5 nodes are on a fork or syncing. But i guess the Japan node is still just busy with the initial blockchain fetching(?) so that wouldn't really count.

Also can i make small feature requests in here? I'd love to have a Gridcoinstats favicon, so that it has some colour in my bookmarks :D

Yes, that the two updated nodes still forked is strange while the old node still runs fine 😄

I have a great favicon, I'll make it to the page later today 👍

That looks great, especially with the dark theme on Firefox!

It does look really nice.

I've also updated the page with the new logo I've got, going in the new theme of the community.

It's beautiful 😎
Took me way to long to put it up though

I couldn't live without a block explorer for Gridcoin. Hope this fix works out well in the long run!

I like how the gridcoin community seems very active. I should really join (I have been saying that for ever)!

If you are thinking about joining, here are some places you can find the community:

Welcome to the community!

cool I will start reading! thanks

Looks like issues are resolving.

Now some questions i always had about the status site.

  1. If i search for a GRC Address which i know has funds accumulated via faucets it doesn't show up with any balance or any transactions. Is it suppose to be this way.

  2. i am curious the last superblock as per your site (based on last RAC update date for my cpid) and as per grc is 2 days ago. I thought they are generated every 12 hours. Also cross posted same question : https://www.reddit.com/r/gridcoin/comments/7tdnvg/superblock_2_days_ago/

Please suggest. (also feel free to point out if i am wrong anywhere, i am still trying to wrap my head around gridcoins)

Is there an API on your page to get data?
Or maybe you can help me how to configure the wallet (on Windows 10 PC) so that I can read it out from RPi in the LAN? I've tried a lot of things without success. Thanks!

Do not take offense , but 3 days latter ( 1/29/2018 @ 11:46pm PST and you posted @ 1/27/2018 @ 4:58pm EST i think as its not UST ) and still " (Block Difficulty < 0.35 (0.08764305) " and we will go threw the same cycle where it goes and replays the blockchain. I may be old , and I may not social media but I do research and monitor things and with that said gridcoinstats.eu is the website I use more often than Google. Daily checking my mag depending on situation and project status and hardware changes etc. Unfortunately this has been a constant issue and we the community per threw the foundation have donated lots of money for the fountain that you some how are in cahoots and funneling new users MUST SIGN UP AT GRCPOOL monopoly kickdown vs just giving them the damn .023 or someit to make them happy with their .003grc after the beacon. lol. Thank god https://gridcoin.ch doesn't discriminate and I am sure if http://gridcoin.science wont add a faucet because dutch wont ever pull the stick out his ass. Anyways now that I have made you hate me more , I cant tell if this is startail or someone else as he/she was/had not been on freenode and since our wonderful team leader shunned me I have wanted to report #1 www.gridcoinstats.eu/news's steemit scraper has not worked since 8/2018 for one thing and only the project news updates since you are using a wallet with a boinc client on the machine with all WL projects attached to auto add project news updates. I have noticed you focus on Asia , and Customminer was always focusing on Asia when asking for nodes since my 1rst day of offering to rack a dedicated dual xeon dell 3rd gen pe2950 a year and a half ago. Linode has been around a while but is more suited and modeled around the IRC shell and Bouncer/Eggdrop market same as Ramnode and both have been around for decades and are like any other openVZ/KVM host ( I am one too ) with that said I am offering some resources to hopefully help expand what I call the Gridcoin Looking Glass as I have always said http://gridcoinstats.eu is a value added asset to Gridcoin and the community in a whole especially with homeboy gridcoinresearchcorp dropping the ball. I always see 3 out of 4 nodes synced in the corner , I had a great AWS free the free tier with awesome peering to Japan and I pay attention to routes. I have just grabbed a list of the top Japan , China and Hong Kong DNS servers to addresses to run latency and network peering tests and would like to know what other possible areas of the country you are looking to expand the strength of your node grid for stats along with the network itself would be useful. I have multiple racks and half racks here in the Seattle and Tacoma Washington USA areas and we are the largest Asian ports in the USA. If interested in more , email [email protected] or join the irc.efnet.org #gridcoin channel and I would love to see if we can help with stability of your site , also hope to see a live real updated real time news page!

Looking at steemJS and it seems simple enough to work with. An implementation of steem posts shouldn't be to far off.

thats grat post
thanks for the valuable post
carry on dear
resteemit done

I would like to point out that general automatic posting is seldom good for either you or the network. You did as well not resteem the post on your timeline as your comment states.

It's more valuable for the network to post a few lines about what you think is good, what your ideas are about the post etc.

Good luck on Steemit!

thanks for sharing!!👍
