Ultimate starting guide to steem, build your steem empire.steemCreated with Sketch.

I have seen this post written hundreds of times by different people but I feel like I need to do one for myself. I am only a couple months into steem myself and still have a lot of growing to do but this guide is for someone who has just started.

First thing? The first thing everyone should do is create a introduction post and make sure your first tag is introducemyself, I'll explain why that is important later when I tell you how to write a good post. So what's next? Go and interact with the community! It's that simple if you want to grow you need to talk to the steemit community and earn your followers one by one. This is simple all you have to do is go and comment on posts that you like, a quick message saying nice post is not enough though! Actually read the post and comment something meaningful, whenever you post on steemit whether it's a post or comment make sure it's meaningful.

So you've got a few followers you have your introduction post done what's next? You need to start posting about your topic that you want to post about. The one rule for steemit you need to live by is quality over quantity, never make more than 3 posts a day unless they are of excellent quality and are meaningful.

How do you write a good post? There is no way to write a good post its all about the content that you write, however there are a few things you can do to make your post look quality and improve your chances of getting upvotes and becoming noticed.

  • Space your paragraphs correctly nobody wants to read a page full of writing with no breaks in it, it looks unappealing even if the content is good
  • Include some pictures, this is for the same reason as above also it helps draw in users scrolling through there feed.
  • Spellcheck!
  • Use tags, this will help your post be seen by the right audience.
  • Don't make it too short, most steemit users like a good read (at least that's what I've found I can't speak for everybody)

So now that you have set up your account, got yourself some followers and know how to post correctly start posting! Bring whatever you have to steemit and work hard, keep commenting and keep enjoying the community.

There is one more tip for people who may be doing all of that and can't quit get noticed enough to give them a boost at the start, I would advise using steem follower. Some people don't agree with it but I believe it's alright to use while your first starting out. You log on and upvote ten posts a day and in return you will get the upvotes back. This is not for making money!! This is just so you can get more upvotes so that your posts get noticed more, would you want to click on a post with 2 upvotes or one with 12?

One last thing if you have any spare fiat money (Dollars, Euros, Pounds) convert them into steem power it will help grow your account more than you think!
