im confused how its possible that too much voting can bring down the value. thats what steemit was supposed to be for isnt it? unless thats why the downvoting itself is encouraged by the creators and was part of the entire concept behind the process of steemit. if the more votes you make brings down everyones values, then why in the heck are bot accounts and multiple accounts even allowed?
That's right, there is a limited supply every day in the rewards pool. It's up to the community to decide the payout of posts, we have 7 days in to adjust potential rewards. The reason there are no 'rules' about how many accounts you can have and bots etc is because this platform is decentralized and community driven. There is no mommy and daddy to go cry to when things go wrong, it's up to our communities to develop solutions to the issues we end up facing.
Its not as easy as that. To say cant cry to mommy and daddy is a bit dismissive.
The problem with that is smaller accounts get squashed for flagging... you can't survive retaliation on your own. Steemit is centralized that way.. in that only the biggest accounts can take the hits. If the system was meant to flag, then it seems the only winners would be those at the top. Proof of stake, not brain.
Some people would rather just post, and if its liked, get paid for it. Flags in retaliation make the user experience stressful rather than enjoyable..
Also, no one to sue, if those at the top were liable in fraud and abusing the system and causing financial loss, they get away with it. Its centralized without the user benefits of centralization. Decentralization is cool up to a point, the point where it becomes essentially centralized through small group of people at the top, but cant be realistically changed by those at the bottom...
