Moving... the saga continues

There is a deadline to move out of a place. Everyone focuses so heavily on that goal. You race and race and race for the finish line... and you make it! You successfully move out of your place and into your new one. In our case, it was an acreage of 40 years, and it took nearly a year to get packed up and moved.

This is a long time to be racing to a finish line. We are all exhausted but in the last few days, we got all of the boxes and stuff into the new place. Then, it sunk in.

We have only gotten half way with this move.

Granted, getting half of the stuff auctioned off, fixing up all of the things that needed to be fixed in that 40 year old house was a lot of work. Moving in will be less work... but, there is still a lot to do.

My mother-in-(out)law said today that "the tank is empty." I guess this is the point of my writing today. The tank is empty because there was a deadline. There was a goal and we raced for it with all of our might... we might have even used a bit more than that and capitalized on a small miracle. The tank is now empty. We got into the new place on time. We got out of the old place and left it in great shape for the new owners... the tank, however, is empty.

This is what I am getting at. There is no deadline in getting the new place set up. There is no rush. All of the energy was used on the first half of the job. That is ok... it needed to be done. Now, it is time to rest. Rest with boxes around you. Unpack your couch, bed, blankets and take some time. There is no deadline getting the new place up and running.

I have a few things to do to help get this place ready to unpack, but after that, I think it is easy going, slow and steady. I am taking a vacation soon, going to some mountain hot springs!!! If I can get this set up on my laptop or get partiko set up on my phone... I will bring you all along. I have a few days (and no time)... the hustle is real!
