Proverbs 17:22, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

A man entered a restaurant followed by an ostrich and sat down. The waiter came over and asked for their order. The man said he would have wine. When he asked the ostrich what it wanted, the ostrich indicated for wine as well.

The waiter served the wine and said that it will cost $4.50. The man reached into his pocket and pulled out the exact amount for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich went to the restaurant again and the man said that he would have wine. The ostrich ordered wine as well. Once again the man reached into his pocket and paid the exact amount.

This became a routine until, late one evening, the two entered the retaurant again. When asked by the waiter if they were having the usual,

Man: Well, it's almost late, so I’ll have a large Baileys

Ostrich: Same here

The waiter then said that it woud add up to $9.00. Once again the man pulled the exact amount out of his pocket and placed it on the counter. The waiter could not hold back his curiosity any longer so,

Waiter: Excuse me, if you don't mind, mister, how do you always manage to come up with the exact amount out of your pocket all the time?

The man told him that several years ago while he was cleaning the attic he found an old lamp. When he rubbed it a genie appeared and offered him two wishes. His first wish was that if he ever had to pay for anything, he would just put his hand in his pocket and the right amount of money will always be there.

The waiter replied that that was a brilliant thing he had done as most people would have wished for a fortune or something, but the man will always be as rich as he wanted throughout his lifetime.

The man responded that the waiter was correct in saying that. Whether it is a pint of milk or a mansion, the exact money will always be available.

The waiter was still curious and further asked what it was then with the ostrich...

Man: it was my second wish for a chick with long legs

That was hilarious. A great, great story. Also well told. Nice to read first thing in the morning as I savor my coffee. (Yes, I am an addict to that). Do you know the origin of that story? (National, cultural origin).

Thank you. I have read several versions and never got to the origin - mind sharing? Wow, hope you did not drink too much coffee this morning.

I found something just now, The Writers Block on Steemit (may be you have) by @rhondak and thought you might want to check it out. You have a blessed day ahead

Thank you! I will check that out. Also a blessed day to you.
