230' Lava fountains in Leilani Estates, Pahoa, Hawai'i. (Video)
Citizens of Hawai'i are feeling the effects of what it means to live on an active volcano.
Hazardous barely scratches the surface. Downed power lines create an even bigger danger.
During the night last night, lava soared as high as 230 feet above the ground in Leilani Estates.

5 homes have been destroyed so far.
Leilani Estates and Lanipuna Gardens residents are still under evacuation notice.
I feel so helpless right now, I have so many friends in Hawai'i. Hopefully everyone is safe and sound. I know most of them are fleeing the island as fast as they can.
To those of you who aren't able to go somewhere else, please stay safe!
I don't know why everything is always like that, if you live in a nice place there has to be things like this... Nothing can be perfect, everything has a good side and a bad side :(

Thanks for your comment @cause-no-harm, but I'm actually not on island right now. I'm on a different island in the Caribbean :) Just spreading the word, hopefully some altruistic people will find ways to help out those in need.

Oh my goodness, thanks for sharing this. I knew nothing of it until yesterday when I saw footage of lava flowing into the ocean. How devastating for the people of this island and it leaves me questioning how does one even clean up from something like this? It's going to be black hard rock and everything will be now covered and destroyed in its path.
