I read a news article this morning which stated that weather patterns across Australia, the Pacific Ocean, and a positive Indian Ocean Dipole could be shaping up to form what is called an El Niño, which will extend the drought which has gripped large parts of Australia over the past several years. Yesterday the Australian Bureau of Meteorology upgrades the El Niño–Southern Oscillation Outlook to "El Niño ALERT." There is not much we can do about the weather, but we can lend a hand to help those who are working on the ground to get much needed drought relief to those communities hardest hit by the current drought. This is what the farmers in South Eastern Australia are facing:

That is why we are raising funds to sponsor a truck load of donated hay to be delivered with the next Burumbuttock Hay Runners delivery run taking place in January. That may seem like a while away, but time flies, and we need to get together and push hard to get that truck sponsored ahead of time. To reach our goal, we need to raise a whopping $2500.
That's where you come in - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
A number of Steemians have got together, and are driving a fundraising effort to help get us over the line. We currently have a few events under way, or in the pipeline, and really, really need as much support as we can get to make this a successful project. This is about the STEEM community uniting to make a real difference to the lives of communities doing it tough out there. Here is what we're doing at the moment:

We're heading into our third week of the raffle soon, and so far 39 tickets out of 100 have been sold at 0.5 SBD each.
These are the prizes up for grabs:
First Prize: 1000 SP Delegation for 30 days
Second Prize: 300 SP Delegation for 30 days
Third Prize: 250 SP Delegation for 30 days
We're going to give this one another 2 weeks, and then draw the prizes before the next big one comes along.... 0.5 SBD could win you some delegated SP for a month, so get yourself some tickets soon!
The First Ever #teamaustralia Mega Raffle
@scooter77 has launched the first #teamaustralia Mega Raffle, with a call out for everyone in the STEEM community to get involved by donating a prize, or prizes, to help us raise funds. All proceeds will be going directly to the #hayrunners fundraiser, and will help us reach our target of $2500.
