According to the latest National Family Health Survey Data, 7.8 percent of women aged 15 to 19 are pregnant or are mothers and one in every four Indian women is married before the age of 18 years. Even though there has been a fall of 47.4% in the percentage of teenage girls getting married and 16% fall in teenage mothers. There has been a fall of use of contraceptives in married woman and teenagers of getting sexually active before the age 15.
