Sleepwalking. How to deal with it?

in #health6 years ago (edited)

The reasons why people suffer from sleepwalking have nothing to do with the undead. Doctors are still studying the causes of this phenomenon, but most lunatics are likely to suffer from lack of sleep.

Sleepwalking usually involves uneasy walking in the dream, and a series of complex behaviours that are performed during sleep. The most obvious of which is walking. Obvious symptoms of disorder-it's just sitting in bed and looking from side to side, walking around the room or house, leaving the house and even go long distances.

Sleepwalking is also common in children. The child may fall asleep while watching a movie, but you will suddenly notice how he got up and began to perform strange actions, such as folding a blanket or rearranging things in the living room. A few times a child can get up in the middle of the night and start preparing for school before realizing it's only 2am.

Symptoms of sleepwalking.

People who suffer from sleepwalking can get out of bed and walk or run away. They may be insane to run away from the threat they saw or felt. Sleepwalking is most common in the first third of a night's sleep or during other long periods when you are in a slow sleep cycle. This can happen in the daytime. You don't remember what you dreamed, let alone what you did in a sleepwalking episode. Being unable to Wake up, you could have yelled or attacked the person trying to Wake you up.

When a person speaks during sleep without realizing it, too, is a manifestation of sleepwalking. Talking during sleep can involve complicated dialogues or monologues, complete gibberish or mumbling. Some people experience sleepwalking under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In addition, it was reported that sleeping pills, when taken incorrectly, contribute to disrupting people's behaviour, including during sleep.

Treatment. If you or someone you love is a sleepwalker, experts say that although there is no cure, practicing good sleep hygiene can help fix the problem. Sleep hygiene basically helps to tune in for a successful night, avoiding stimulants before going to bed. For example, exercise. You also need to make sure that you get a lot of natural light during the day and do not fall victim to excessive sleep. You should also be sure to sleep enough, seven to nine hours.

It is also known that hypnosis is an effective treatment. Treatment of sleepwalking in adults may include hypnosis. In fact, there are many cases where patients with sleepwalking have successfully treated their symptoms with hypnosis alone. Genetics can play a role in whether a person becomes a lunatic or not. The chance of having a sleepwalking can double or almost triple if one or both parents have had episodes of sleepwalking in childhood or adult life.

Although it can be scary for both the person having the disease and their loved ones, it is usually a frivolous disorder and can usually be treated with lifestyle changes. Therefore, if you are short of sleep, a commitment to take care of yourself to have a good night's sleep.
