Deodorant and Cancer?

There have been rumors for years that some anti-perspirant deodorants are a cause of breast cancer. This has never been proven, though many dermatologists continue to study possible correlations. When my mother was treated for breast cancer approximately ten years ago, the concern was very real. During her course of radiation therapy, her doctor recommended she switch to an organic deodorant.

Whether or not commercial grade anti-perspirants cause cancer, it cannot be refuted that using an anti-perspirant puts more aluminum and parabens into the body. If you are concerned, then take precautions for your health and switch to an organic deodorant. Organic deodorants are just as effective at controlling sweat and odor, without potentially nasty side-effects. Plus, using organic products is great for promoting good ecology.
