Turmeric is one of the most powerful natural ingredients. In one study, 119 people were diagnosed as having digestive problems. They are given 1 gram of fine turmeric powder to make tea for 7 weeks.
At the end of the study, the results found were lower digestive inflammation than those who rarely consumed turmeric. This is one of the benefits of turmeric for digestion, specifically treating inflammation of the intestine.

Treating stomach acid
A study in the journal Systematic Reviews found that people who cook one spoonful of turmeric on their cooking proved to have a healthier digestive system. Digestion referred to here is the stomach and large intestine.
Some types of food can endanger the health of the stomach and can erode the intestinal wall. The compounds contained in turmeric are useful to protect and coat the stomach wall, by increasing the production of mucus.
