Sleeping is not a waste of time

It is very common to hear today that sleep is a waste of time, but to stop doing so can take its toll.
On average, according to age, certain hours of rest and sleep are needed:
Adults between 7-8 hours of sleep at night.
Adolescents need a minimum of 9 hours of sleep.
Children 10 hours.

  • You drink 16 hours.
    However there are sleep switches like caffeine, light, electronic readers etc.
    The current life leads us to be exhausted, usually you can see people who fall asleep anywhere and this because many times the work and daily life are very demanding.

At night is when the organs and internal processes work promoting great benefits to our body, improving intellectual performance, concentration, reflexes, energy balance, because rest affects all tissues of the body.

During the night, growth hormone is activated, which is why it is necessary for children to sleep. This is also a requirement in the world of bodybuilding.

It benefits the immune system helping to feel and be healthier by counteracting toxins and germs.
Improvement in memory, strengthening neuronal connections.

It protects the heart avoiding cardiovascular diseases and stabilizing blood pressure, meanwhile insomnia increases stress and blood levels.
Increase creativity and reduce stress, a rested brain is capable of generating valuable ideas as well as facing the situation and pressure around us.
Improves alertness and mood in the person therefore reduces depression, since the body relaxes producing melanin and serotonin and counteracting stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.

Helps control appetite and is therefore valuable in weight loss and obesity reduction, causes fat cells to release less amount of leptin, meanwhile insomnia triggers release of ghrelin hormone responsible for the appetite.
