In our 21st century world, technology is sine qua non. In so many ways we can't do without it. From Instant Messaging to Video call, from hover board to driveless cars; technology has proven it's indispensability.

While technology has been to us a lot of usefulness, it is needful to examine its effects on us--the way it has shapen us so far. The failure to address the fact complicates the faux pas.

It's alarming and so sad a lot of people can't do without their smart gadgets. While these high tech not only grabs valuable attention, the use to some extent leads to a condition referred to as an iDisorder. As Professor Larry Rose of California State University maintained,

An iDisorder is where you exhibit signs and symptoms of a psychiatric disorder such as OCD, narcissism, addiction or even ADHD, which are manifested through your use--or over use--of technology

The digital spread makes the condition worse as many people now prefer the use of these things. Unlike the past age, parents in the house prefer perusing social media posts to normal delightful chat with the rest of the family. Young adults prefer intercourse with virtual partner using the VR glass which of course leads to the increase in sale of sex dolls.

A few months ago, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) News reported that tech giant Microsoft warns firms of technology 'distractions', where Sir Cary Cooper, Professor of Organisational Psychology at the Manchester Business School said,

Technology can overload people and make them less productive because they get caught up in it rather than use it to deliver a service or a product.

As technology evolves seemingly at an accelerating rate, our over dependence on it has created several setback which needs an immediate tackle. Of course, technology has tremendously helped but we wouldn't want a world filled with lazy unnatural people, or where a vis-à-vis interaction becomes archaic. Hence our reaction to these issues is utterly essential.

In our highly advanced world, do not forget that entertainment became part of our lives with full good features. Due to that, video games are played in different parts of the world especially to children. Also, video games affected now the psychology of some teenagers or children and addiction on it is now classified as a mental disorder for this year 2018.

In the Philippines, video games are blamed for some neurological problems among the youth.

By the way! Good work @etoo! I followed and upvoted you! Follow me back if you want! ^_^

I am glad, I found a psychological post here in Steemit! ^_^

I'm also glad you found my post valuable. It's not only in your country but around the world. We're mostly caught up in these things rather than being efficacious using them. Let's take reasonable steps to curb these problems.

Thanks a lot for reacting

^_^ Of course, this is for the global awareness of psychological and neurological problems!

Wow we it seems we are interested in similar things and I'd to be friends with you!

Glad to hear that... 😇

I put it down . Technology is addictive. Its like the movie Ferris Bueller's day off - We have to take a day to smell the roses before its too late .. Life has passed you by.

You're very correct @orlena. It's addictive and even a disorder! Don't you think we've got a lot to do?

Good you do. Our reaction is hence imperative as our agreement alone won't do. Hey I haven't watch the film is it interesting??
