Drinking water on an empty stomach provides so much health benefits. Staying yourself hydrated is great for your skin, your metabolism, and your energy levels. There are even more added benefits to drinking water on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. Drinking half a liter (500ml) of water upon waking up can contribute to healthy, noticeable and welcomed changes to your body.

  1. Drinking water can help you to flush harmful toxins in your body. When you urinate and sweat, you are ridding the body of toxins that build up in your system. Water is a great source of purifier that cleanses out the colon, which makes nutrient absorption easier throughout the intestinal wall. It also helps kidneys to remove blood urea and nitrogenous waste compound through the body and absorbing minerals, filtering blood and producing a good amount of hormones.

  2. Drinking water early in the morning helps us to lose weight loss by raising metabolic rate, Actually, weight loss can be a very slow and daunting process. By boosting your metabolic rate, you are increasing the rate at which calories are burned. According to a study published by the National Institute of Health, after drinking 500ml of water, men and women saw an increase of approximately 30% to their metabolism. Water also makes you feel full and can remove the by-products of fat cells.

  3. Water increases our blood cell counts as well as muscle cells, and also increases the oxygen we receive to the brain. The increase in oxygen will create more alertness and energy so you can start your morning off right. By starting your morning off with water instead of coffee or tea, you are also saving your stomach from acid build up or reflux. It is recommended to drink water before having food and coffee.

  4. Water helps move food and waste through our intestine, it also balances distributing nutrients and expelling toxins. Drinking water in the morning before eating and digestion gets this process started early - meaning less discomfort later on.

  5. Proper hydration plumps the skin, giving it a fuller, healthier, and more radiant appearance. In addition, Water also helps balance oil in the skin, leading to less acne. And remember, after a full night's rest, our skin hasn't been hydrated in hours. That should probably be the first thing on our morning "to do" list.

What type of water should you use for maximum benefits?

All type of clean and hygienic water should be consumed. Drink approx. 500ml water early in the morning after brush. If it feels too much in the beginning, you can start off slow and then gradually increase the amount of water. although the temperature of the water is normal, like room temperature but for the best results you should consume warm water. Also, make sure not to eat anything for a while after you drink water in the morning. This water treatment therapy has no side effects and boosts your metabolism greatly. after 500ml is well accepted by your body then four glasses of water (one liter) on an average daily would be great for you.
