Eat Your Sunflower Shoots!
This picture is Sunflower Shoots (also called sunflower greens). They are Microgreens and from a seed company called Trueleaf Market. This is where I buy my seeds for all of my Microgreens they are a great company!
Why should you grow and eat Sunflower Shoots? They are one of the most complete foods you can add to your diet for over all health and well being. Pretty much as Super as a Super Food gets. Unfortunately they are virtually impossible to find in markets...you may have a good chance to find them in your local farmers markets and they will be well worth the price.
- Sunflower Shoots are a perfect source of complete protein they are considered to be the most balanced of all of the sources of essential amino acids.
*Sunflower Shoots are a nutritional power house! Full of Zinc, packed with Vit A, B complex, D and E. Also contain minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus.
*Sunflower Shoots are rich in chlorophyll which benefits many functions within the body.
And so much more you can almost write a book just about them!
I never would have known. Thank you much for sharing @jakeduck. I have had alfalfa sprouts and bean sprouts and they are actually good. The heads are a little chlorphylly (that's not a real word), but the stem and roots are often a bit sweet and rather tasty.

Heck yes! After I harvest a tray of microgreens I give them to my chickens and my canary...great for them to get some live greens!

those are one of my favourite additions to soups and sandwiches - so, so yummy!
