Why Vitamins are Significant and how do they Perform in your Body

I often wondered how vitamins are very significant to our body and how they even work. So I started learning gradually about these little things to some extent. Thus now I got a better idea and I just want to brief about that to you, so that it may encourage you to study on the topic further.

To begin with, they are the small molecule with which our body needs to accomplish certain processes. Vitamin A,B,C,D,E and K what you name it, it has a unique responsibility. We know that unlike plants and other creatures, vitamins for ourselves cannot be created by our own. Thus we need some sort of source to trigger the processes. Thus we need to take fruits, vegetables and so on. Though we have many supplements to acquire the desired vitamins, I will not recommend them as we have many sources where we can get vitamins.

Vitamins are differentiated into two types. Lipid soluble and water soluble. The major difference between them is their transportation and storage within the body. Firstly, water soluble vitamins are appeared to be vitamin B and C. These vitamins are stored in the water portion of the fruits and vegetables. If they are consumed, they are directly taken away by the blood which has water based blood plasma. For example, oranges have vitamin C in their water portion and a great way to obtain vitamin C. I have a habit of taking a glass of orange juice every single morning.

However, these vitamins are easily passed out through kidneys. So it is very necessary to have more water soluble vitamins than the other. Vitamin B helps other enzymes to acquire more resources from food that we had. And Vitamin C helps to repair many infections within the body or outside the body. They help to build good teeth and bones. Here we can raise a point that lemon or any citric acid fruit is not good for teeth but vitamin C appears to repair the teeth.

On the other hand, lipid soluble vitamins such as vitamin K are found in fat products like dairy, oil and so on. They travel through the stomach and break up into fat. They can only travel by the protein blocks. These vitamins are packed in the liver in fat. They can be used whenever they want. Thus we can understand we are not supposed to take more lipid soluble vitamins as they are already been stored.

Therefore, vitamins are essential things we need in everyday food. I made very brief to give an idea about the two types of vitamins. A deep explanation could be given in couple days if anyone desired.
