I have caught the barefoot mountain climbing bug!

This time David & I made it to the summit of the mountain which overlooks our home village. The trek is known for the 14 crosses which mark the way to the top. The film can be watched above.

This is cross number two, marked in roman numerals within a heart.

At a mere 800m and an hour and a half of walking, this was a nothing more than a pleasant stroll compared to the monster of a mountain we climbed last time.

As ever, my feet were exposed and connected. For those of you who don't already know, I've been this way for 5 years and wouldn't change it for the world.

Though as you can see, I do keep the shoes with me just in case of emergencies.

The last part of the walk was much harder than I expected because it was steep and the wind was strong.

I felt pretty pleased with myself at the summit and couldn't resist getting a shot next to the proudly flying Catalan flag.

Looking out in the other direction David explained to me another potential trek along the ridge you can see here.

All in all, it was a perfect Sunday afternoon walk and a great way to get me back into exercising my body after fasting for 7 days last week.

From the top I was able to shoot some HDR zoom shots of our valley.

In this shot you can see how close we are to the wind farms and the ocean.

The colours are just starting to redden now. Such a fantastic time of year :)
