In the years of our forefathers , there was high mortality rate because many parents lacks knowledge of what Genotype was and what there genotype were. The would be couple do get married without regard for their genetic makeup But in this modern day that science and medicine have undergone some desirable upgrade (biologically and in genotype wise ) it has been successfully proven that LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH REASON TO GET MARRIED If Genotype decision differs ,
It is very important for intending couples to know their genotype at a very tender stage of their relationship before it become stronger and deeper because *long feeling and emotion in a deeper relationship could blindfold partners judgement to break up if they later find out that in genotype wise they are not compatible , thus bringing about sickle cell offspring in future in which if this happens , they have indirectly subjected themselves or their offspring to pain , agony, sadness and torture which can bring about drastic reduction in the life span of their offspring thereby blocking them from fulfilling their dreams .

In Genotype its either you are AA (normal) , As (carrier) or SS (sickle cell sufferer )

Now lets do a bit of elementary Biology

1. AA + AA parents = AA , AA , AA , AA Offsprings
2. AA + AS parents = AA , AS , AA , AS Offsprings
3. AS + AS parents = AA , AS , AS , SS Offsprings
4. SS + SS parents = SS , SS , SS , SS Offsprings

From the chart drafted above , in (1) , if you are AA (normal) and your partner is AA (normal) , you are good to go .

In (2) , if you are AA (normal) and your partner is AS (carrier) you are still good to go also .

In (3) , if you are AS (carrier) and your partner is also AS (carrier) , their is a problem , i will advice you to quit before it is too late because scientifically there is every probability that you will get a sickle cell sufferer as an offspring which may be disastrous in future .

In (4) if you are SS (sufferer) and your partner is also SS (sufferer) ,it means all offspring will be a sufferer also , this is the worse of all , don't even try it .
Although we also of AC but not that common but its advisable that AC should never marry AC.

NOTE :: Any of the offsprings from the results may come first , it does not necessarily mean they must be according to how the results were arranged .

Despite much awareness on the havoc of getting married without partners knowing their genotype compatibility ,

My friend Mary said we tied the knot without knowing out genotypes , now i found out we are both AS , and have given birth to two kids which luckily are both AA and AS but now am afraid of giving birth to a third kid ever since i got to know this .

My neighbour Miracle said ,i know am AS but i only got to know my husband genotype is AS tooafter the doctor told us our first daughter was SS because she is always sick . i regret getting married to him , life have been miserable , all our savings is being spent at the hospital

So if you are in a relationship and you don't know your partners genotype yet ,the time is now ! Get to know this before you put a ring on it , if its not compatible please quit now before its too late ,don't wait for Miracle or magic to happen after marriage , Yes no doubt Miracle still happens , we have seen a lot of testimonies on that , but the question is what if Miracle fails to happen in your own situation?? Ponder about that .
I know some will say i love fiancee i don't want to break his/her heart , we have been coming for long , its too late to break up now uhmm please don't marry that your fiancee out of pity to avoid regretting your actions later.

oh! you are thinking of how to quit a long term relationship because of genotype compatibility problem right? calm down , you can do it , call him or her , talk him or her out on it , make him or her understand the problem it can cause in future , save your future , save your kids , safe your money .
For partners whose there's is compatible , what are you still waiting for ? Common, go and put a ring on it lol.
