The Health Talk #3 - The Winter, the cold, immunity and how to adapt to the conditions

How many of you can't wait to see the first snow, to see the winter coming?


Well it is the most awaited period of the year and mainly because of the holidays, a special family reunion around the Christmas tree and so on. Everyone enjoys this moment, from the smallest to the greatest. But at the same time, we must remain vigilant about our health. Because, as we know, the winter period brings us many reasons for joy, but also a number of health risks.

We must keep our immunity up so that we will not suffer around this amazing period of the year. But how?


Immunity may suffer because the body's ability to adapt may be low during this time. So one of the main things to keep in mind is increasing the immunity of the body. An increase immunity before the cold season makes us less vulnerable to disease specific to the period. Immunization prophylaxis is desirable since autumn, we do not have to retreat from the pre-seasonal administration of products containing vitamin C and multivitamin, multi-mineral, immune-stimulant complexes, etc. We all know what annoying is when we find holiday gifts under the fir tree and the joy of receiving them is disturbed by a trivial cold or a seasonal flu. Also, do not forget the look of a healthy diet. Winter holidays bring many goodies on the table, making us forget about food excesses. So we will need medication to help liver the ball, the stomach to work properly.

  • A healthy life involves the pursuit of an orderly life and a balanced diet. We live in a constantly moving society with stressful factors all the way. But is our body prepared to cross these moments?

Medication during winter is much often used than in any other season. However, it is important to know that for the strengthening of our immunity, some of the drugs that diminish our body capacity to fight by itself should be removed from the consumption. For example: antibiotics, aspirin, paracetamol, tranquilizers, antihistamines, etc must be avoided. Instead, we can introduce cures with different medicinal plants that activate the immune system. Ginseng, shrimp are only two of the plants that we can include in our consumption during the winter.

With regard to winter food, we need to consider those types of food that provide us with the nutrients needed for proper functioning of the body. We talk about enzymes, which favors immune processes, fatty vegetable oils that stimulate lymphocyte activity, vitamins (Vitamin A - produces antibodies, Q10 - stimulates the activity of cellular and immune effects etc.), immune stimulating proteins, minerals, etc.

Also in winter we tend to quit physical activity. The day is shorter, the worse the weather, and the mood does not encourage the movement at all indeed. The decrease of our physical activity, however, damages the oxygenation of the lymphatic system. Therefore, walking or aerobic activities in a gym help us maintain a good and fit body.
