Beginnings of the company.
Netflix emerged in 1997 in the US state of California.
The idea arose when the executive and founder of the company a man named Reed Hastign rented the movie Apollo 13. After returning the film a few days late he had to pay a fine for the delay. Annoyed by what happened, he decided to open his own video store store without fines for late rental. After that, together with his partner Marc Randolph, they had an idea of doing electronic commerce.

After months of planning and polishing, software, marketing, they managed to make their online video clips page. The clients of that club choose the movie they wanted to rent on the) online platform and then they sent by mail. which he sent the first in an envelope with the postage paid for his return. Once Netflix received the first movie, it sent the second, and so on.

This works with a player based on Microsoft Silverlight to prevent audiovisual content from being downloaded (it currently offers a download service of some movies or series chapters that can only be played in the application), although it also has the option of using a Player created with HTML5. Original productions
Netflix began producing its own series and streaming movies in March 2011.
The first firm made by the company was a drama called House of Car produced by director Kevin Spacey. After that the platform decided to produce series, and very famous documentaries and now its production has surpassed some Hollywood movies and famous TV series.
