Oguta Lake: The lake known as Oguta is one together but divided into two different lakes. Though it might sound strange to the ears about Oguta Lake which is located in Imo state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The lake

One half of the lake has a brownish color; its other half flows clearly as it almost appears green. With surprise, this two rivers have never met.
Looking at the rivers from the surface one can distinguish between the two colors of Uhamiri and Urashi which appear as though they come together but not at all.
The locals have said that it’s been the nature of the two rivers since antecedent, the green water is Ogbuide, which is believed to be the female. The brown water is the male, Urashi.
The Oguta Lake is deposited with sand, silt and clay which dammed the lower Njaba River.
The lake is measured at 8.05km long and 2.41km wide, it’s noted for being the longest river in the entire South- Eastern part of Nigeria.
Its main depositor rivers are mainly from Njaba which accounts for a major contribution. While the Awbana, Uju, and Urashi rivers account for a lower contribution to the lake.
