RE: WHY GROWTH SHOULD BE AT THE HEART OF DEVELOPMENT POLICY

in #hf206 years ago

Steemit is a business, not a charity it still needs to generate value for the resources it uses. It's also not a get rich quick scheme either, while I'm happy for people who have made a living out of steem this isn't and won't be the norm for many of us.

How many people make a living off YouTube compared to how many simply view their content? It's more of a fun way to engage people and content creators directly and reward them for their contributions via the site/blockchain.

Steemit is not here to generate wealth, that comes from investment as more people find they enjoy the site, they will be willing to invest which improves the value of the token and attracts outside investment as they see it as a tradable commodity

If you can't invest massive amounts of money and you want to engage you can lease SP to cover your costs and earn back your investment over time. No one has a right to be successful, yes money makes it easier but if you're committed and have something to offer you will be rewarded on steemit which is far more than we can say about other social media sites

Those at the bottom of the rewards will always complain regardless of how big steem gets. If they really had a problem with it they should be willing to commit to what they say and try to affect change. Not throw tantrums and think we all going to feel sorry for them.

That's not how the world works! There are pleny of things i dont agree with on steemit and ive decided to grow my account, attract people who think the same like i do and build a community around that so these people have a voice and influence and thats how the site gets better

Dear my friend, you are my virtual brother as active member of steem-bounty, but i cannot fully agree with your vision of Steemit.
As you can see from whitepaper i joined it not for business but to interact with new people and get knoweladge of this crypto world, this was an option which now is changed and it makes me sad a lot

I totally get your point of view and I get where you're coming from

but as someone who has started his own business before, the way you think and see things before you start is always idealistic and you need to make practical consessiona nd decisions to remain viable and to reach growth and business goals. You can't always hold to ideals you set up 2 years ago. Yes you may have certain core values but how you execute them may change with time. Some actions may take you away from it and some will bring you closer to it.

No one has it figured out from the start and you learn by doing. I still think this is a postive step and once the site can reach sustainable mass with a middle class we can think of how we recruit those without resources.
