How are we all doing on this fine day? Fantastic? Sweet.
On today's blog we are going to be looking at some of the gaming consoles that have been lost to history over the many years. Let us know in the comments if you remember any of the below and see how truly retro you are. berry smaller.png

We'll be honest, a lot of these look completely alien to us but there a few in here that are easily recognizable... Hopefully.

We'll start off with something nice and easy: the GameCube. Released in 2001 by Nintendo, this console allowed you to play classical games like Super Smash Bros, Zelda and Mario. Who members this box console and its funky shaped controller? We member.

Now for another easily recognizable console. Here we have the PlayStation 1 released by Sony in 1994. The original PlayStation that paved the way for its successors like the PlayStation 2 through to 4. It was the first console I ever recall playing on during my childhood. Playing epic titles like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro along with a dozen other random oldies. Surely you member this console? We member playing Crash Bash on it- such fun times.

Here we have a possibly more obscure gaming console- the SEGA Saturn, released in 1994. Though we're sure you recognize the brand SEGA for releasing the great late Sonic, but did you know they also used to create their own consoles like this one and the SEGA Mega-drive? Madness we know. In fact, SEGA released several retro consoles until the dawning of Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation who began to dominate the market.

Now we have another Nintendo console known as the Nintendo 64, released in 1996, it was home to Mario 64, the number one best selling game of its generation. It also hosts some other sweet games such as 007 Golden Eye and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Who members this console and always having the blow on the game cartridges in order to get them to work? We member.

If you look to the above picture, you will see a photo of the 'Super Nintendo Entertainment System' or simply Super Nintendo / SNES. This console was released back in 1990 for Japan and South Korea then 1991 for North America and 1992 for Europe. We'll be honest, we don't member this console at all. Do you? Fair play if so.

1980.png

Created in 1987 by Worlds of Wonder, this fossil of a console used VHS tapes for its games (VHS Player sold separately). That's right, video tapes, oh how we've come a long way since VHS. This console was difficult to get a hold of outside of the US, however, it was probably a rare sighting in the US anyway due to it only having 5 games released for it. The way the console played meant a very limited playstyle and greatly restricted what games could be played on it. With only light shooters allowed, the console quickly declined in the market and was left to be forgotten.

For our final console of our list, there is the Atari 2600 created by Atari in 1978. We're going so fart back now that this might have been one of the consoles our parents played during their down time. Though we have heard pf the Atari, we have never played it and don't think we will ever be able to knowing how the inputs and outputs for consoles change over time, like would it even connect to the 4K TVs of today? Most likely not but you can still play its best selling game on multiple platforms in today's time whether it be on your PC or any arcade. Can you guess which game we're referring to?
Well done if you got PAC-MAN. You're the ultimate member berry!

i spent all of 1991 playing sonic and madden on genesis.
your post takes me back.

So many memories ...

The most memorable for me is the famicom because it is the first console that we had and played a lot of games. I also had a chance to play from snes, sega genesis, and playstation 1.

hello, i want to help you in your posts and follow you, please help me too and follow me

Mario Kart on Super Nintendo was the best game. It’s nice to see all of those systems again. I remember them fondly.

Nice article, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Strangely enough, the most memorable console for me was the GameCube, I was a huge fan of Star Wars Rogue Squadron, and when RS2 came out on the GC, I just had to have it!

where's the Magnavox Odyssey? =D The old Ataris have controller problems and haven't aged particularly well, but you can still pick up the classics on steam, ps4, or xbox
