Alaska is a state of America which exists in the northwest region of North America.
Area-wise, Alaska is the largest state in comparison of all other states in America.
Previously, Alaska was under control of the Russian Empire.
On 30th March, 1867 America bought Alaska from Russia for which they paid 7.2 million U.S. dollars.
On 3rd January, 1959, Alaska became 49th State of the United States.
The total area of Alaska is 663,268 square miles (1,717,856 square km)
