Let us know more about the story of Putroe Ijoe and the history of Aceh

The row of tombstones of kuni seemed to lie unevenly. Adorned with the green grass yellowish grass was protected by a white fence made of iron as high as 1 meter. Unseen there is a door at the gate but greeted by the writing of the Tomb of Putroe Ijoe.

The tomb of Putroe Ijoe is located in Gampong Pande, Kutaraja Sub-district, Banda Aceh City. It is said that, in the past that is in the time of Sultan Iskandar Muda, this area is a royal family area. No wonder in this area there is also the tomb of Tuanku Dikandang. But if judging from the side of history, the existence of Putroe Ijoe itself has not proven complete in fact. Quoted from Modus Aceh, Nurdin, a historian also argued so.

Nurdin has done a search related to the history of Putroe Ijoe. Indeed there is found a saga that tells about him. Putroe Ijoe is the daughter of King Deli is very beautiful. Her beauty was already spread to Malaysia and Java. The news of Putroe Ijoe's beauty reached the ears of King Aceh, so the King of Aceh was also willing to ask for her hand. But this was rejected by King Deli, thus causing the Aceh King to feel humiliated. Finally, the Acehnese king also sparked war.

At the time of the first attack, King Deli also managed to create a retreat of attacks from the kingdom of Aceh. But at the time of the second attack, Acehnese royal soldiers also managed to kidnap and capture the Putroe Ijoe.

Before Putroe Ijoe was taken away, his brother who was a dragon incarnation gave message to Putroe Ijoe that when captive must be with a glass coffin and when it reached Kuala Aceh to throw corn roasted and eggs into the sea.

The King of Aceh also undertook the request. And right, when they got to Kuala they threw the Roasted corn and a Dragon appeared and then took the glass case of Putroe Ijoe. "Some people today say Putroe (Princess) Ijoe becomes a resident in Aneuk Laot Sabang," added Nurdin.

Until now, the grave of Putroe Ijoe is also quite often visited by tourists from local and foreign countries such as from Malaysia, Turkey, Netherlands and Middle East countries. Sometimes students from schools also visit this tomb for a historical tour of the region. There is even a researcher.

When the Tsunami struck on December 2004, the grave was also affected. Many tombstones are shifting and even badly damaged. Reconstruction Rehabilitation Agency (BRR) of NAD-Nias had merehab the grave, but because without coordination with BP3 so its tombstone was not arranged like original grave condition before disaster.l
