in #history6 years ago

August 5, 1775, is a memorable day in the history of Calcutta. On that day the English was first held in Calcutta by the British, In the eyes of the Hindus, On 5 August, the people of Calcutta left the city and went away from the Ganges, lest the sins of conscience touch them.

The person who was involved in this horrific murder, he is the king Nandkumar Roy. As stated earlier (p. 73) Warren Hertings executioned the execution of Maharaja Nandkumar. But many of them do not know about this in detail. That's what I'm saying here.

Nandkumar's ancestral home was in Bhadrapur village of Birbhum district. Father's name is Padmanabh Ray. He was Ameen of Murshid Quli Khan. Nandkumar was taught the revenue related to Persian, Sanskrit, Bangla and Father, and was appointed as Amin of the faujdar of Hughli and later on the revenue of the revenue of Hajli and Mahishandal Parganas in the time of Alibardi Khan. After the Battle of Palashi, Nandkumar was elevated to high positions. During this period, his dispute with Warren Haitings was triggered by the Bardhaman taxation authority. Hastings was then the company's resident.

Nandkumar came to Calcutta after being elevated to higher rank. He became a very influential person in Calcutta. He was also a highly motivated person. Impressed by his various qualities, King Shah Alam was conferred with the title of 'Maharaja'. He also loved the people of the country to save the people from the persecution of Reza Khan. He could not do anything with torture, and always punished the oppressed. Apart from that, the door to his home near the Beadon Square was always open to poor people. Every day a large crowd used to eat in his house.
