'Time For Some Laundry?'

crta.png

This is a collection of old ironing accessories. I happened to find them on a small street. The exhibits are from the early 20th century and they brim with tradition. It is a reminder of how life got way easier in the past 100 years. Young people are totally unaware of how people lived just forty years ago, not to mention a hundred. Times progress and ways change. Wandering the vast lands of times long gone can be an adventure for the ones who find pleasure in enjoying it.

Enjoy your day! :)

Heraclitus said that the only permanent are the changes; And these changes you tell us are appreciated, especially if they are for the benefit of societies. These are beautiful pictures, the combination of elements I love and the presence of lace and flowers give a special subtlety to these photos, @velimir.

Beautiful and ancient pieces, @velimir! I remember my grandmother telling me that she washed in the river and that to get the dirty pieces out, she had to hit hard with a stone. Also that the iron was a piece of iron that had to put in the candle to be heated and that did not use detergent but a plant that foamed. Maybe life wasn't so easy before, but people were very creative. Nice Saturday for you;)

Looking at your photos, I understand that the appeal of Antiques in the energy of the thing emerging from generations of people who have seen the growth and collapse of empires. Holding an old thing in your hands you understand your frailty, because this thing is quite likely to outlive us.
